It is our absolute pleasure to welcome you to Hāwea Flat School.

Established in 1882, Hāwea Flat School is located amongst farmland 8km from Lake Hāwea and 15km from Wānaka. It is our own "slice of paradise". Hāwea Flat School  has a long history in education and plays a central role in bringing our wider community together - from Queensberry in the south to the neck of Lake Hāwea in the north. 

 We are focused on providing a wide variety of creative and rich learning experiences for our tamariki. As a learning community we work together so everyone can be "the best they can be".  The local climate and environment encourages outdoor living and a strong connection to nature. There is a family feel to the school and it is common to see children of all ages and stages playing and learning together during the school day.
